Brownfield Revitalisation
Opportunities for Regions in Europe
The revitalization of brownfields poses major challenges for Europe's regions in transition. At the same time, the rehabilitation of previously used areas holds considerable economic and ecological potential. The EU's cohesion funds can make a valuable contribution here, by supporting sustainable developments.
The conference will focus on presenting good practices and challenges when it comes to the revitalization of brownfields and industrial sites in the Ruhrgebiet and the Upper Silesian metropolitan region, Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska. One of the objectives of the conference is to underline the need for an EU Cohesion Policy that is geared towards the specific local needs in regions in transition.
We particularly invite representatives from the EU Institutions as well as from European post-mining and industrial regions. We do also welcome representatives with a scientific background, from politics, administration, associations or even just interested citizens.
Registration is closed.
